er ah that should be Quartzeit, sorry. Now a serious winter alternative can be Sunset Campground just down the hill from Furnace Creek Inn. JCarp has memories of some times there recently. Hot, Flat and Crowded (see the best seller by the same name, Thomas L. Friedman, author)
