Better than Quartzite is the End of the Colorado River at Algodones, Mx. Just southwest of Yuma and Winterhaven, where many Americans now go to get medical care they can afford. There are some canals taking the last of the water before it hits Mexico and an Indian Res parking lot, some cheezy RV parks and lots of Border Patrol Humvees and helios cruising around. Plenty of 'long term' RVers around there in the most unlikely "campsites" Had to be one of the most "low-life" places I've ever overnighted in my Vanagon when I went across to Algodones to save myself over $3000 at the dentist and to buy some prescription meds for $7-full price rather than $21 with my "insurance" co-pay fee in the US! Same brand, slightly different price.. For those interested, you can stay in Yuma and catch a "tour bus" to Algodones to get medical care...I think they have a couple per hour most days...
