It was all Richard & Bob's fault!

As discussed here last January or so, melted the tops of my 3 yo Bilstein touring shocks on the 84 westy trying to follow Richard in his syncro westy w/ all the HD syncro suspension upgrades(?). 26 miles of washboard trying the slow 5-12 mph & sometimes the 30-35 mph, float over the washboard, literally melted the tops of the shocks, blew the seals as Bob watched from behind. Drove to BBB & then home on the melted rears, replaced w/ the LESS expensive HD Bilsteins, & so far so good, but I haven't been back on the Racetrack Road in Death Valley again, so who knows?

All of that said, I wasn't worried about the suspension failing, only about having to re-attach every loose nut & bolt on the westy from all the rattling.

YMMV,

Mr. BZ
