install with a magnet you will find super duper magnets inside any old hard drive from a surplussed computer

But your problem as stated was that you can not see the unit in your mirror ...

so either raise the profile of the unit with flags or sticks

paint lines on the ground to follow ..including a front wheel stop line

or install a back up camera and you might try what is suggested as the most useful http://www.peakantifreeze.com/peak_backup_camera.html yours
