I say its time for stronger solvents! : )
Nail Polish remover is good.....but why not just get pure acetone?
Depending upon what its soluble in you may have to try a few. Gasoline,
Xylene, Acetone, Denatured Alcahol, and Water are all good things to try
out.
Of course you "Could" just use a paint scraper.....

When all else fails, most of those solvents also burn.....
Pull the steel tray off and burn the alien off it : )
