I've owned my Westy for 8 years and never thought much about the gooey blob that gets soft and sticky after cooking. I guess I know now where it came from. I have only two bumpers above the drain tray. I'm sure there is a story behind how it came to be where it is, but I'll never know it.

BTW--mine are gray (or grey) as is everything in my '87.
