I checked the archives and found a post. http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind9710&L=vanagon&P=R30582 Response says no gasket needed. Another post http://gerry.vanagon.com/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind0404B&L=vanagon&P=R3966 refers to this part (not sure if correct part. URL didn't seem current) I've noticed fresh grease on area around each outboard CV's at inside of my trailing arm. These are "new" 30K+ KM's CV's self installed CV's that function fine otherwise. Can't say if grease from CV's or ? (wheel bearings?)
Now I'm curious too. Neil. -- Neil Nicholson '81 VanaJetta 2.0 "Jaco" http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/ http://groups.google.com/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engines |
