Yes but if im taking some more HPs than stock TD I would like to have all the oil that is being pumped going through my engine. Or is it just too insignificant to make a difference? Thats only reason why I thought not to do it like You suggested.

Perhaps that's what you have.

It is mazda 1.7 PN diesel engine in an old mazda 323 1987 model (body that is, the engine might not be -87). I still have it, although hasnt been driven for 2 years now. The engine would run just nice, not so with the rest of the car. It is very rare I have not another one of these engines in mazda in Finland ever. And we have had lots of these mazdas here. 2. best diesel engine I have ever seen.

Now that this discussion is started I began to feel interrested about this. I can go and check those filters next time Ill go to continue my VW project. I am not 100% sure about the function of the second filter, but I know for sure that there are two. I can take pictures for You ;)

Obligatory vanagon content: I am under impression that the engine itself is quite a like the VW 1.6 NA prechamber engines. This engine is not based on any previous mazda diesel. Prechambers are quite similar along with positioning of the glowplugs. I still have not bought my first VW diesel, so I cant yet really tell more exactly.
