Hmm...

We get 15-16 mpg city, 18-20 mpg highway in our '87 Westy.

Our friend has a pretty new Toyota Tacoma V6 that gets 17 or 18 mpg. And that's a "high mileage" pick'em'up. What do hummerz get ... 7 or 8 mpg if that? What do soccer-mom vans get? I don't think it's much higher than wot we get.

I think we're already better citizens!

I agree with taking care of the maintenance, but my motivation is to take good care of our Esme so she'll continue to take good care of us.
