I have a few rules for camping alone:

1. Never be the only camper in the campground, no matter how lovely it is. 2. Camp near the camp host (if there is one) and introduce yourself. 3. Always put out two chairs (decoy). Maybe someone will wander over and sit down for a chat. 4. RVer's tend to be very sociable-introduce yourself and maybe they'll invite you over for wine & cheese. 5. Lock yourself in and the bears out. 6. Carry yourself with confidence.

It helps that I am a big, tough, no-nonsense gal and they'll think twice about messin' with me. Harumph!
