Have you actually tried this, Scott? I don't know about a Volvo 740, but on a Vanagon the holes in the headrests do not provide outside visibility. Nobody could possibly look through their Vanagon headrests to see out their window, unless their head rotated 180 degrees like an owl's. In fact solid headrests are commonplace on many modern vehicles.
