customs does not care if your item is an antique
what they care about is if your item is worth 20$ CD
nor do they care what you paid for it
they speak of value under 20$ CD
the above link leads to a directive supplied by canada post
so once again my point is if you declare your parts to be antique you may in
fact be raising the value ...
custom agents are not insurance adjusters ... they are revenue collectors
they have access to google as well and may even be reading this email
i do recall reading a directive letter that spoke about obsolete items ...
but i would imagine it would be a ridiculous argument over 30$ or even 100$
tax to claim your side is right and that your stuff was obsolete
so therefore not taxable ... likely take 25$ worth of stamps at a minimum
not including time
