Thanks for your replies.  I was able to change out the ignition switch quite easily.  Only one problem...it still won't start.  I can pop the clutch to start it but the starter will not engage, not even a click.  I'm sure I had a bad switch before, because it would start for a while when I jiggled the key.  I did manage to solve the alt light problem.  I swapped the alternator with a good one from an old engine.  It seems to me that all these problems should be related but I'm not making the connection (pun intended).  Any advice? :)
