One could always make the first post................................ 'seeking tips on installing my new propane tank I just got from Bus Depot' ........ thus saving people advising you to get one etc.

what is your plan for the large bolts to hold it up. ? and which side are you thinking of ?

there are reasons do either side. my Adventurewagon has it on the right side. that helps balance weight left-to-right. and it's easier to get at the valve. but ........I had a minor unintended off road excursion a while back on a dark back road that turned into a boat launching ramp ...... I turned right into a large parking lot........and was suddenly going diagonally off about an 8 inch drop off. Thumpity bang bang ..... enough to ruin a brand new 195 R 15 C tire. I was rather concerned about the propane tank and regulator down there on that side.

I figure the odds of getting off the side of the road on the right side are quite high compared to doing the same damge over rough stuff on the left side. Based on that, I think the left side is sligthtly safer, maybe.
