Personally I don't like it much. Kinda kickin' myself for not heading out the last few days. Nice sunny weather and all. Something that is likely going away here locally too. (Vancouver B.C.) But. With the right gear, rain isn't a problem. Now cold and wet. That's no fun. Having a means to warm up quick helps a lot. One of the more useful things that c/w my "ready to camp" (ha!) Westy was a piece of plastic hallway runner covering ~1/2 of the carpet. Helps a little in that if one isn't organized enough (read: me) to enter and leave boots in foot wells up front (good tip Mr. Snook) the plastic bit seems to help save the carpet from getting dirty. But since I tend to leave it in place, it makes sweeping out the whole area a little harder. As has been said, the Welcome mat helps too. Especially the plastic bristle type. Just don't leave it behind! Neil.
