Scott, Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I do have the lever off the trans - that wasn't too big of an issue - since the accelerator cable was shot I just uct that off near the socket end. So the enitre thing is still soaking in The Works. If that doesn't losen it up I think I'll try the earlier suggested dremel approach. As you stated the last thing I want is for that ball to break off - if it does I'll be looking for that part again. Last time I was able to get it from Go Westy - but had to contact them direct and they located a good used one in their shop for me. I'd be willing to bet this was part of the stiff accelerator pedal issue I was having - possibly the occasional odd shifting too.
