A wonderful person I know, one I admire much, and who supervises 156
persons and handles a budget of several millions of dollars in
professional life, always turns a map so that the direction of travel is
at the top.  When I asked why not just keep N at the top, this person
told me that keeping the direction of travel at the top wasn't
confusing.  So -- going S, put S at the top of the map.  Kinda mixes up
the E is right, N is up and so on business I learned in first grade from
the maps on the wall, but oh well.
