RE: Speedo Error Assuming that the stock 185R14 is 805 rev/mile and using the tire calulator at http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html (can't use it for stock tire, no entry) you should be about 2% off, not 10 mph. BUT, according to list wisdom over the years, early model Vanagons can be that far off.
