John, et all, some tanks have the small outlet, some have the large outlet, why, I have no idea but it's easy to make the connection to the pump in different ways. The small plastic box filters I get from my supplier have a small diameter input and large diameter output. So, it can be used to make the connection from small output of the tank to large input of the pump. If I or my customer does not want the filter or I have a large diameter output on the tank then I make a step set up with two pieces of fuel hose one inside the other to make up the difference. Since there is no pressure in this line it will seal perfectly with a good fuel line hose clamp.
