Subject: alternator / battery light on question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

A friend is headed to Florida in his '87 Westy and the battery light popped on, then off, then a few hours later the battery died. The shop he was towed to said the newly reman. Napa alternator had failed. The replacement was installed and the charge voltage checked fine - but now the battery light stays on. He and the shop tech both claim all wires are connected fine but this worries him, and me! Since I can't see this van in person, have you any ideas what might be causing the battery light to stay lit even though it is charging fine? Could they have mistakenly connected something wrong? I can't think of anything myself. Thanks...

Karl
