It seems to me that almost nobody uses "just" a gps. All of the new gizmos are combination of gps for 'position' and an electronic map. A gps receiver can be used to record the position of an object, a route, etc. Without the 'map' component of these combo units, the point or route is useless to most people.

Beyond this realization, the question becomes 'do you like physical maps or electronic maps.' You can use a gps unit and a paper map and pinpoint your location easily, been doing it for years. You can have a gizmo do it automatically, been doing that too.

I like looking out the window.
