No, if you read his original post, you would see that he knows it's not that.

'Galling' refers to when metal 'balls' up and transfers due two surfaces rubbing against one another under pressure continuously. An example of this, is the damage that occurs when a bearing goes dry or isn't properly lubricated.

What it actually is, is 'dissimilar metals corrosion', which can sometimes be so severe that it's as if the two parts are welded together (electrically).
