Nope that would be incorrect! I never said that I drove off my lift with the
newly installed motor and went cross country. My drive to work is 75 miles
one way. Its a combination of
highway and backroads. The first week after the install I drove the van
around town always
varying the speed. I also made sure to speed up in the van and let off the
gas using the compression of the engine to slow me down. I put 200 miles on
the motor this way. Then I started driving it to work. Not only to break the
motor in but do a good shake down before I headed cross country and
eliminate any problems that I may have. On the highway I never went over 65
and even then never kept a steady speed for any length of time. I followed
the same rules as when driving it around town.with letting off the gas so
the back sides of the rings could get their fair share in the break in
process. I put 800 miles on the motor locally then put 4,197 on the cross
country trip. When I get time I'll show you the route I went so you can take
out your trusty calculater add up the miles for proof! Maybe I should have
been more specific but yes the bulk of the miles was from going cross
country which I felt
was needed to explain how I accrued so many many is a short time. If I was
really out to
scam someone I could show the receipts and say the motor in only a few
months olds
and has 1,500 miles on it. I'd rather be up front, give them the facts so
they can make
and educated choice.
