For those who haven't seen my, *ahem*, many engine swap posts, this is regarding an air cooled instrument cluster I've been using on my air cooled to water cooled engine swap. And FWIW, I had a look around the Samba and saw the cluster with analogue clock/temp gauge combo. Instead of chopping up the clock face I have, (really seems wrong some how) I'll see if I can't make something. I have the '85 part I can use as a template. Connecting the output voltage from voltage stabilizer and to an existing aftermarket gauge connected to the VW temp sensor *kind of* made sense, but 10V might not work with the aftermarket gauge. Not worth the effort to find out. And since I want to add a low coolant warning system, the WBX temp gauge is needed. AFAIK, Bentley shows the WBX temp gauge as having what I assume is internal "solid state circuitry" that works with this system. I thought it would be a straight connection from warning module to a new 12V LED but seems not. Neil.
