They were perfect ... I have two of them on my grate centers to do just what you guys discussed. I'll bet you could get some not-too-heavy flat steel and make them. Frank's have tabs that fold around each of the 4 points of the grate to hold them in place. His have large VW emblems that cover the middle, but any crossing pattern that covered the center would work. bob |
