I don't know much about Westys, but I mounted my big amp under the passenger seat in my 90GL. Ten years later it is still running strong and doesn't get that warm.You likely have swivel seats, so that may not work so well. I built a shade tree console in between the front seats that hoses my CD changer(yeah, old school), but I don't see why you couldn't mount the amp under a console if you left ventilation room. A semi-annual removal for cleaning would be good and still keep the unit close to the battery. That's about as creative as I can get with minimal experience with westys.
