I'm no wheel/tire expert by any stretch but have my own experience with them.I have CV900 rims, BFG A/T KO 225/70-16's. No rubbing. I used to have the mercedes look-alikes with the 23 ET. Had both 225/75-16 and 225/65-16 and got rubbing with the 75's, none with the 65's.

Current diameter is 28.4" and is about the max you can go before getting rub, Syncro or 2WD. Your rim/spacer set up may be what's causing some of your problem, not just the tire size. Do you know what your final "offset" (read: ET) is? Usually 25 is about max before you start getting lotsa rubbing at the outside-rear of the front wheel well with larger tires than the 28.5" dia.. I think 37 is about the max in that direction you can go before you need spacers to avoid rubbing inside on steering components. bob
