For those (like me) who have always felt the standard cigarette lighter
makes a poor 12vt outlet and only became a standard because they were in
every car.

You might find some nice alternatives.

This one is great for dashboard, its like a mini 110vt wall outlet but can
be used for 12vt.

Rated only to 10 amps. requires matched male plug you would have to add to
your device but very secure compared to clunky cigarette lighter.
