Finally, a few crumbs for the Midwest faithful.... I made my monthly visit to the local Pick 'n' Pull looking for parts for my various projects. Didn't find anything I could use but noticed that about a third of the vehicles were labeled "clunker", C4C, engines spray-painted orange, etc. As I was leaving, I noticed that the staging lot was packed to overflowing and that there were stacks of already crushed cars in the back. I got up on the bumper of a car and scanned the staging lot. Lo and behold, in the front row, was a gray '86-'91 Westfalia weekender. I could just barely see details through the fence but here is what I saw. Body was in good shape. Fiberglass front and rear bumpers. Poptop tent was hanging out from the roof and appeared to be in good condition. Driver's window was open and we've had a lot of rain. Power mirrors were installed. What I could see of the interior was complete and clean. No one in the office had a clue about when it would make it to the public area. Where is it located, you ask? The first one to send me a cashier's check for....never mind. It is at the Pick 'n' Pull on Groveport Road, Columbus Ohio. I'll be in Columbus Friday and will check again to see if it is closer to the door and will let the list know. I think the competition among list members will be light owing to the dearth of list members I am aware of within a 100 mile radius but you never know. A good measure of the economy is how full the parking lot is at this place. At 3:00PM today, the parking lot was completely full and cars were parked across the street. Also, cars inside were being stripped to an uncommonly low level, some were down to just the body panels left. Tom
