This came up before on the list. But in my experience most valves, controls, rotary switches, when you turn it Right or clockwise, it goes on...More right, moreon! (<) Turn it left or CCW and it goes off. Not our stoves. On my last extended camping trip I spilled my umpteenth pot of coffee before I cut up some coat hangers and made some dorky little trivets to try to keep it upright. Those didn't last long and they had to be repositioned after driving, but with my traveling tools it was all I could manage. Maybe this winter I will remember to fix this before I hit the road.
