Funny! I woke up this morning wondering whether the list would like a pointer to the "Gas Burner Reducer Trivet Ring" from Fante's Kitchen Wares Shop:

http://fantes.com/trivets.html#reducer

I bought two. They're working well, but at five inches in diameter, they're barely larger than the openings in the Westy's stove grill, so I must position them carefully. Before I close the stove, I put a paper towel, folded in quarters, over each, so they don't rattle and are less likely to move around while driving. Also so they don't mark the underside of the drying rack.

I found those after a protracted on-line search for what the Brits apparently call a "gas ring reducer." Apparently everybody in the U.K. has a bunch of these, but they're hard to find in the U.S. I just wish I could find one a little wider.

I'm anxious to hear more! What's the diameter?
