I have to admit its with some trepidation i mention this tip, for it seems every time WD40 is mentioned... well you know. I got some double sided tape residue on the top surface of my dash (don't ask, moment of stupidity) and not having any goo gone or the like at hand, I thought I would see if WD40 would soften and remove said glue. Well it didn't really work, but a slightly dampened with WD40 rag rubbed on the dash vinyl made the surface look pretty good, not as shiny as armorall, but quite nice. I got enthused and wiped over the steering wheel and rest of dash including binnacle. Nothing untoward happened, dash did not crack nor melt, my hands did not slip on steering wheel my hair did not fall out, passers by on the street did not point at me and scream. It just removed the dust and dirty and the grunge. Oh and the smell is really not that strong, I kinda like it. can i add that your mileage may vary, and that I am not responsible for any law suits arising from the use of WD40 in this way :) cheers, Alistair
