I protect my dashboard with a protective layer of dust, dirt, plya dust,
mud, and dead foliage.
I've got no cracks to speak of, and it makes a great bedding medium for the
vines i've tried to grow out of the ash tray....
(Note to those interested in this, the vines will promptly die once you turn
on the defrosters.... so it only works for a few months out of the year).
Clean things require too much maintenance. : )
