Recently I foolishly reset the odometer while moving.......don't know what came over me, and now neither the resettable or regular odometer work. Speedo is fine.
Before I shuffle off to the archive, are there any easy solutions for this problem?

ha,
you see? mention wd40 and all hell breaks loose.
WD40, IMHO, ranks above amorall in the generating abuse department :)
as for drying the vinyl dash by using wd40, i think an occasional
swipe with a damp wd40 rag will not do much to leach out vinyl
plasticizers. I bet having the dash sitting in the blazing sun does
far more...
but then again its such a subject of debate, especially when none if
us are experts in the field of plastics.
oh, and I also reset odometer when driving, so there :)
