Hi all. Am pulling my hair out wiring in a low coolant level sensor. Got it all in, but light just blinks. Though the '85 WBX gauge/LED unit fit in, it dawned on me that the foil circuit on my *air* cooled instrument cluster is different than the WBX. I wired the low level warning controller as per a 1.9 WBX. Likely I should wire things as per the diesel, which may mean no low level coolant warning light. I chose this route as I wanted to rebuild my spare '85 cluster and use the air cooled (and keep the analogue clock) in the meantime. Are the WBX temp gauge and Diesel temp gauges the same? Is it likely that my '81 air cooled instrument cluster foil is "wired" as per a diesel? Much TIA. I have so little hair left to pull out! ;) Neil.
