Subject: Camper relay issue
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hey all, I've been having some issues with a flickering battery light on my 82 diesel Westy. I've got a aux battery relay next to the stock camper relay, getting dedicated power from the main battery but using the blue "trigger" wire from the camper relay as per Jim Felder's setup. The aux battery relay started buzzing in sync with the battery light, so I figured something was going on there. After getting an clean bill of health from the alternator load test, I unplugged the trigger wire from the camper relay and voila the battery light stopped flickering and the aux relay stopped buzzing, and all accessories work fine. I replaced the camper relay with a new one, but the same problem occurs.

Has anyone ever had this problem? I thought the camper relay was farily isolated downstream, but apparently I'm wrong and is in series with the battery light and there is a loose connection somewhere. I also can't find where on the fuse panel the trigger wires and main 12V battery cable are to check the grounds, etc. Anyone have a labeled image of the panel or a good explanation before I start pulling wires to find it?

Thanks, Pete
