Nothing has been worked on the van for a long time prior to the brake
problem.  One thing did occur prior to the problem and that was a panic
stop.  Some fool in front of me slammed on the brakes (no reason) on the
freeway and I really had to put pressure on the pedal.  I was how straight
the van stopped and I didn't hit them but I really didn't know if I was
going to stop in time.  It was close.  A couple weeks (I don't drive the van
every day) after that event is when the brakes started having a little
squirt feel.  Even with the original squirting feel failure, I still had
plenty of brake fluid (still at the max line).  It turned out the fluid was
somewhat dirty which may or may not have contributed to the problem.
