One beauty of the S&S exhaust is that in a few years you won't forget what
it looks like. From the poor fit at first to the muffler breaking and then
the slip fit connections causing problems you will be a frequent viewer.
For the 1.9L the only OEM style exhaust now available in the Dansk stuff.
There are a few muffler options. You can also upgrade the 2.1L exhaust
including the mounting if you also change the rear engine mount bracket. The
Stebro exhaust does address most issues although the fit can sometimes need
a little effort.

Oops -- my bad -- S&S does not equal stainless steel. Learn something new
every day.
This is a project I have to get done, so I'm sniffing around the options.
Looks like I have to first determine the condition of the muffler
holder-upper strap. I know it's also a good idea to pull the cat and look
at its input side to see if new is needed, but I am uncomfortable with the
idea of taking the van to a shop for this work, and having it out of
commish for a while if it turns out that a cat is warranted, but don't
really want to buy one upfront "in case."
So I dither.
