You can always install it INSIDE the van. It will fail to annoy the neighborhood but it will deter whomever decides at close range to violate the protected space. Once inside it will be virtually impossible to concentrate on molestation of the contents unless of course the assailant is deaf. In that case no amount of +130db noise will dissuade the thief from the rapid execution of his appointed rounds. And no wires will be available to cut outside to disable the noise. When entry is made, the percieved noise level will noticeably increase, a progress report so to speak to the knowledgeable that the door is open.

The ultimate electro-nag.

If the alarm system includes a starter disabling feature you should very carefully note on your bently current track diagram just how this feature affects the starting circuitry. My venerable alarm system had a relay that slowly failed. Took some serious chicanery to figure out that A. it was the alarm system and B. it was the mystical elusive relay gremlin and C. Just where the relay was physically located and D. What the proper replacement part was.

Or you could hide a king cobra in a decorative pot inside and claim the deceased thief tried to steal your pet.

Pensionerd.
