The mechanic is cool, name is "Ed". But yeah, the mouthpiece is really annoying.

They put a horrible looking exterior wrap on it and indoor/outdoor carpet inside. Would have been better just fixing the mechanicals and driving it with the existing charm and patina.

Wheeler Dealer (a mediocre British car show where the incredibly irritating host buys a used car, gets his mechanic to fix it up, and tries to sell it for a profit) is currently featuring two episodes where they convert a beat-up diesel T25 (Vanagon) panel van into an ugly half-assed camper that nobody will buy for they money they put into it. It's on Dish Network (HD Theater channel); not sure who else carries it.
