The overhaul kit really only addresses a leaky seal. If any mechanical part is really worn then machine work is required to restore proper pump operation. Often the shaft seal leak is really caused by a worn pump shaft or housing bushing. Worn vanes or pump body will cause poor performance and noise.

Has anyone every rebuilt their own pump.?

The price of these pumps is now over $300 in most places and over $400 in others. And thats remanufactured before core charge. It makes the $12 or so for an overhaul kit and a little time look pretty good.

Has anyone actually rebuilt their own using a rebuild kit? Pictures?

Thanks
