Sounds like you guys are getting settled quite nicely up there in Bend!
Glad to hear that, & we cant wait to be up that way ourselves! :o)
Been looking down in the La Pine area myself.
One thing about this ( Suburban / Atwood type ) install,
is that you are only taking up the space
in that little cupboard down by the bottom of the fridge.
The Up side is that you can remove the rear heater,
which in my opinion, just doesn't get used all that often anyway,
And you have the complete full area under the rear seat !!! :o)
A lot of space, if you install a few organizing containers or such.
Not a "Bad" trade off if I do say so myself !!!
Most of the Propex installs I've seen,
(and they are a very compact heater :o)
Still take up considerable space
when installed in the usual place under the seat.
Although I have seen them in the little cupboard as well!
And they do tuck into that space quite nicely I might add.
Yes, If I didn't already have this heater (so basically free )
and wasn't in my limited income, retirement years
( "Time Ain't Money When All You Got Is Time" !!! hee hee :o)
I defiantly would go with the Propex.
Although, like I said, if you can get a deal on these
they do come quite cheaply !!! :o)
That said: a penny saved here....
buys me a nice beer to relax with, over there !!! heh heh..... ;o)

Olympian catalytic radiant heater that can, with time, take the edge off a
cold morning. Until you showed how an RV furnace can fit the van, Mr
Squirrel (me) was thinking that he'd have to shell out close to USD 1,000
to install something fancy like a Propex if Mrs Squirrel were to need more
heating power. I would be loath to give up that bit of cabinet space --
where Mike S keeps his wine rack and I keep my canned goods and a backup
bottle of Knob Creek bourbon whiskey* -- but sometimes comfort trumps
storage.

* For emergency and guest use only. Mr Squirrel does not have the
constitution to drink spirits without pretty awful side effects later. Mrs
Squirrel might have a sip of Bailey's once a year or so if she's in a
party mood.
