Tony______, who one Jan. night partied hearty at the Heidleburg Inn at the foot of Teton Pass in Wyoming, then when Bernard closed up at 2am, he decided he was too drunk to drive home..So he knee-walked out to his van (60's era split window) and passed out in the back. He didn't wake up till about 10am the next day after temps dropped overnight to -40f. Lost some toes, and he was lucky that was all he lost... The worst thing about those old AC splitties was that they would almost always start no matter how cold it was. My 57 was often the only running vehicle leaving Wilson, Wy to go towards the ski area on super cold mornings...I would end up with a full van by the time I'd driven about 5 miles...Everyone would hoof it out to the end of their driveways, looking for a moving vehicle to get to work in...It did help with the drive to have a couple of extra hands to keep the ice at bay inside the windows..
