Subject: Repro fiberglass bumpers
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

I don't know why nobody yet makes replicas of these fragile items... VW was nuts to make them out of this horrible (if easily-repaired, and it's wanna be) material.

It would be nice if someone made repros out of the so-tough plastic the Japanese make their bumpers from. These can be hit and turned almost inside-out, and you almost never see one with a split.

I'd planned to make a flexible set from the fiberglass bumpers & side-cladding I bought from one of Bostig's buddies, but it looks like those are never going to actually be sent...

I don't know what I was going to make them from... something flexible but not droopy, that won't tear, snap or split... possibly fiber-reinforced.
