agreed - me too.

some folks like to camp with a tv - who am i to tell them they are wrong. and, as it happens, gail and i do need a generator if we're gonna camp away from an electrical outlet for more than two days to run our medical equipment. otherwise i use electricity for our fridge and a little for my ipod and external speakers... we do have a small microwave but rarely use it, no tv, and in the winter the heater takes some electricity - but the fridge takes less then.

i've been looking at a solar solution but everything i've looked at cost a LOT of money by the time you add everything and get enough capacity to keep our batteries charged. we have the car battery, 120 amp/hrs of battery for the medical equipment and 100 amp/hrs for the house batteries.

i know that we are sorta a special case but i bet there are lots of folks in a similar situation.
