Why settle for one van that can do it all when you can have several and delegate?

Today, courtesy Unca Joel Walker - I put the last of three Vanagons into the stable..

I now have, own, possess, hold - THREE Vanagons:

1: 1988 GL - Red - 7 Pass. Daily Driver in full service - everything works that's essential (no AC) 2:  1988 GL - Dove Blue - Manual - 6 pass plus driver. Middle seating. (project vehicle) 3: 1990 Carat - Dark Blue - Automatic 6 pass plus driver. Has two rear facing jump seats. (project vehicle)

The two blue vans are in pretty good shape body wise. Some heavy clean up needs doing - inside and out - and then they will look pretty good. No damage at all. Just a little road rash in a spot or two. The engines were running when parked, and the Dove Blue one  has clean oil and new filter - apparently installed when parked. Dunno about the Dark Carat. Trannies in both are toast. Must be rebuilt. I'm thinking of tackling the automatic my self but have not resolved the issue of the differential rebuild yet.

This is going to take a while, but when done - they should be sweet.

I am an artist and potter - and do a lot of art shows. My plan is to 1) keep the red van as my daily driver. Haul clay, glaze materials, kiln bricks, ect, etc, etc - Lumber, plywood, etc. and 2) use the Dove Blue as my show van -ie, keep it loaded with my display tents, shelving, etc, and pots. Drive to shows with this. Keep inventory stored in there until ready to sell. and 3) use the Dark Blue van for tourings.

It should be fun.
