I'm no expert but I understand that if you buy 15" rims you have two issues to deal with: 1. Do the rims fit on the Vanagon hubs (unless they're OEM South African 15 alloys made for the Vanagon) and 2. Do you have the right lugs and spacers to make them work? I've found more information than I ever could possibly digest on this subject by perusing the stickied wheel discussions in the Vanagon forum on thesamba.com. There's even a member there who makes the custom lug nuts and spacers you may need to mount non-OEM larger wheels. Personally I'm just going to keep on dreaming about upgrading until my new set of 14" Hankook tires wear out.
