First, show me where it says that 100W halogen bulbs are illegal.

Second, if you've never been flashed, chances are you are meeting with drivers who are a lot more tolerant over overloaded vehicles (ATVs in the back of pickups) and misaligned lights.  Doesn't mean what you are doing is correct.  Flashing someone is illegal BTW!

I will also state that US laws are some of the most outdated laws in the world for automotive stuff - all to protect the all mighty automobile industry!  The only place where superior ECE lights are illegal at a federal level...

H4s - go for them!  HIDs, keep them out of reflector based low beam technology...

If I see crappy self installed HIDs... I bright them!   I also have a pair of road legal Hella 4000 Xenon lights too!  :-D
