Thanks, Zoran.

On an automatic, yes?

If so, is $350 to $400 a fair price to pay to have someone do this to examine the seal(s) between the tranny and the diff for possible leaks?

Again, the symptoms we have here are: one year ago, the diff was found to be dry, though still working fine. The filler plug looked as though it had never been opened, ever, as it was totally crusted with old crud. The diff was then re-filled with whatever one fills a diff with. Yesterday the lube in the diff was found to be a bit low, and the tranny fluid looks a bit discolored, a leak between the two suspected.

Are there other possible causes for these signs? I drained and changed the tranny fluid m'self five years ago, have put on about 10,000 miles since.

Maybe someone point me to the relevant pages in Bentley's so I can get an idea about where this suspected diff/tranny leak might be.)
