I, too got some of these outlets and a plug from Digikey. They look nice and work fine, but they are not the same as Marinco by any means. I don't have Marinco on hand to side by side compare, but the Digikey ones are a little rough inside and the metal socket inside is steel with a thin coating... I doubt their durability for exterior use. I was planning on putting one on each side of my van, outside somewhere so I could plug in my Solar panel and use 12 accessories outside...I am going to get some Marinco ones for that and use the Digikey ones inside only. I replaced the flimsey dash socket on my 84 and that's an improvment. I did have to slightly enlarge that hole to accept the Digikey outlet. Good buy, for the price. Certainly a better outlet than what you can get at the chain stores. Don Hanson
